GALIA Packaging Users Group: Sustainable Development

The objective of the GALIA Packaging Users Group is to manage different types of work concerning packaging: technical, standardization, exchange of good practices, etc. 

It organized an meeting to take into account the issue of Sustainable Development: this subject concerns all companies, on the regulatory aspect, the best practices to be integrated, the materials used, their recyclability or reuse, etc. 

Companies THIMM (Packaging Manufacturer) and ITENE (Research center and certified laboratory) have contributed to understand the challenges specific to packaging, by sharing their know-how through two presentations. You can access these documents by clicking on the links below.

GALIA wishes to make progress on this subject, which is fully integrated into the second pillar “Sustainable Logistics” of the three-year GALIA plan. Please feel free to feed us with your own experiences. Ultimately, the concern for Sustainable Development is an integral part of packaging standardization work. It is important that companies of our sector know how to take it into account at the right level, to communicate the real situation in a timely manner and to carry on progressing in this domain.
